President's Message
Welcome to the Illinois Chapter Web site, our goal is to provide you information and contacts to assist you in providing service. We are busy completing preparation for this year’s 2012 Annual Chapter Conference in Peoria. We have sent save the date cards out to all our members. My belief is if you learn one new thing at a conference that helps your job, your employer got their money's worth.
This year’s Illinois Public Service Institute was held at Effingham on October 2nd through the 7th. Ask anyone who has attended and you will be convinced it is a valuable training session. The planning meeting was held in Plainfield November 21st and we believe that we are prepared to have another excellent institute in 2012.
2013 is fast approaching and our friends in the Chicago Metro Chapter will need volunteers as they host the National APWA Congress. Check out their web site for more information as to how you can help make this Congress event a success.
If you live in Southern Illinois, consider joining our newest branch, The Shawnee Branch will allow you to connect with other professional public Works people in the area that will help improve your organization.
As I finish my term as your President, I want to thank all of the members who have assisted me and to wish all of you good health and a prosperous New Year.
